Centre bearing assembly suitable for an IMC PC2 and Cs-C1 chippers
This is the complete bearing assembly for the PC2 and Cs-C1 chippers.
It comprises of the aluminium housing, two bearings, centre shaft, oil seal, drive pin and circlips.
Far easier to fit than stripping the old bearings and shaft out of your existing machine
Please note this does not fit the IMC PC1 chipper.
Is this easy to fit?
It isn’t the easiest spare to fit. If you have a bit of engineering background it might be something you can attempt. Isolate the chipper from the electric. Remove the base. Take off the belt.
You then need to remove the pulley from the centre shaft. Then you need to undo the four fixing screws at the top and the four at the bottom of the existing aluminium housing. This should release it. You may have to loosen the metal frame to allow it to come out. Once out just replace with the new one. Make sure it is secured at both top and bottom fixing points. Replace the pulley and belt. Tension the belt up and test. Replace the base.
Does this fit the IMC PC1?
No this will not fit the older IMC PC1 chipper. That part is obsolete and you may need to consider replacing your chipper.
Do I need to purchase anything else at the same time?
No, this comprises of the aluminium housing, two bearings, centre shaft, oil seal, drive pin and circlips. It may be worth at the time checking the condition of your drive belt and the pulleys that are on the machine.
What is the best way to clean this machine?
We would always recommend to just wipe the machine down. While it is tempting to hose the chipper down, water ingress can create other problems, both electrically and mechanically.
