Chipper belt for the IMC PC1 and the Hobart EC7040 chipper
Chipper belt will have 430J6 written on the belt.
This belt has six grooves

Is this belt easy to fit on a PC1 chipper?
It is quite easy to fit. Isolate the chipper from the electric. Remove the base. If needed, slacken the old belt off and remove. At this point it may be worth cleaning the grooves on both the large and motor pulleys. Fit the new belt and adjust the tension.
Is the belt easy to fit on the Hobart chipper?
Yes, it is quite easy to fit on the Hobart. Isolate the chipper from the electric. Remove the base. Originally there will have been a tension spring from the body to the motor plate. This needs to come off. Some machines may have a tension hook. If this is the case release that. This will allow the belt to come off. You will then need to undo the three screws on the back of unit. This releases a spacer that you can then pass the belt through to remove. Feed the new belt back through, re fix the spacer. Put the belt in place and reset the tension.
Do I need to purchase anything else at the time?
No, the belt is a stand alone part. It may be worth considering purchasing a spare at the time to cover any emergency.
My machine isn’t driving, is it the belt that is the fault?
It could be a few reasons why the chipper isn’t driving. The easiest way is to remove the base and see the condition of the belt.
